Trust and lean on God

But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days.  People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God— having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with such people.   -2 Timothy 3:1-5

It’s no secret that we are facing dark times. I’m not necessarily calling these the end times; only God knows when that will be, but there are a lot of troubling things happening in today’s world. In America alone God has become a forbidden topic in our schools, sexual immorality is being forced into every aspect of our society and Christianity is being marginalized to a childhood fairy-tale. The public stage is basically saying,”Hush now little Christian, the adults are talking.”. It’s almost sickening to think about. I don’t even want to go into what is happening in other parts of the world. My prayers are with them.

So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.   -Isaiah 41:10

We are living in a time where it is no longer popular to be a Christian. We are going to be tried and tested, but we must hold strong to our faith and values. The more we the allow popular society to influence and change our beliefs, the more we will permanently lose and the further we will stray from the grace of God. In these times it is more more important than ever for us to trust and lean on God for strength and guidance. The only way we will be able to pull out of this is with him leading the way.

  1. Thank you for being so candid about this “sensitive” or “controversial” topic! So many Christians these days are so quick to compromise to keep their jobs, families, status, popularity, money, respect, etc. but as followers of the one who said,
“You cannot be my disciple, unless you love me more than you love your father and mother, your wife and children, and your brothers and sisters. You cannot come with me unless you love me more than you love your own life.” Luke 14:26 CEVUK00
Thank you for not being afraid to speak out.

  2. Thanks for the post! I someone who has just dedicated his life to Christ, I was one of the people who marginalized Christians in the past. But, God in his infinite mercy, called me out of the darkness and back to Him. Now, as a believer, I have begun to see exactly what you are talking about! We are surrounded by spiritual dangers at all times and the world that we live in certainly takes pleasure in showing us that we are not in control … however, that is where the world is wrong because they don’t know Christ. He will give us the strength we need to remain stedfast in this time of trial! To God be the glory!
