I was brought up in a home of unrecognized faith. I remember attending church regularly up until right about the start of elementary school, then like so many other families, mine allowed daily life to take over. With the absence of church, came the absence of discussions of faith. A prayer was just something said before a holiday meal. Over the years I formed a chip on my shoulder about the subject which eventually led me to denounce the existence of God entirely. As you may expect, this in turn led to many unfavorable life situations, but I don’t want to delve into those here.
Skip forward to age 23; I was brought to a turning point. I was faced with a very sobering moment that made me reevaluate my situation in life. It pushed me to move back home from the big city; to stop running from my past, and to plant my roots where they always belonged. I remember the first night I was home, looking up at the stars and feeling at peace for the first time in a long time. Shortly there after I re-met the woman who I will share the rest of life with. She is also the one that introduced me to Christ.
This site will serve as a place for me to discuss and share my thoughts on faith and life and how they intertwine as I travel down the path to discover God’s plan for my life.
Thanks for following my blog! Prayers that you are guided by God’s grace!

Bless you bless you as you pursue Them. Likely you may not have read at Grace Notes far enough in to know who “Them” is/are to Charissa: THEY are Papa, the Father who gave us His only Son because of Love…and Jesus, the Son, the Great High Priest who lives always to make intercession for us at the Father’s right hand, and Holy Spirit, whom I call “Mama”…that is the name She takes as She interacts with my heart. She calls me “Baby”, and oh the comfort that She is.
I would encourage you to go with gusto and passion, and always with open-hearted honesty with Them. About everything. Just be honest. They will take you places you cannot even fathom. This I promise.
May you be richly blessed with deep relationship that is generous and inclusive. May Mama instruct you in Wisdom according to Proverbs 8 and 9, may Jesus grant you heart knowing of what it means to be joint heirs with Him, and may the Father give to you every good and perfect gift.
Highest and best…may you always find religion anathema, and Their words sweet.
Much love and best wishes, Charissa

From the age of 12 till my mid-twenties, I also claimed there was no God. I am so thankful that He is a God of immense mercy and forgiveness and a God who is heavily into the ‘restoration of lives’ business!
