Playing with fire

Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.   -1 Peter 5:8

We’ve all seen videos of people interacting with dangerous animals like they are common house pets. The man who chose to live with bears, or the guy that walks around with and plays with lions. One wrong move would be certain death Continue reading

Trust and lean on God

But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days.  People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God— having a form of godliness but denying its power. Something that has been there for as long as they can remember. Continue reading

In the midst of the storm

You’re silently screaming in a crowded room. People offer clichés to try to comfort you. Simple pleasantries like, “I know you’ll make it through this.” or “You can do so much better than him/her.”, but your ears are ringing too loud for their words to even come close to your heart. Nobody could ever be able to know the pain you are feeling right now. The inner storm rages on. Continue reading
